Quilty, again

Since long before we moved here, I've had a shelf in my wardrobe containing a pile of t-shirts, none of which I've worn in getting on for a decade as I don't wear t-shirts any more. Several times, I've gone through it and thrown away some, but I've kept the ones with some level of sentimental attachments, and they've been quietly taking up space and getting dusty.
Combining this with my vague misgivings about buying perfectly good fabric to cut up and make into a quilt, I had a new project:
(Smashed the back of my phone a couple of weeks ago. "Let's leave the lens that it came with," said Mike, "it might be less shit than the last few have been....")
(Apologies to anyone who bought me one of the t-shirts involved. On the other hand, it has been much loved and is now a very snuggly quilt!)
(You can donate clothes to charity, and the crappy ones then get sold for the fibres. Does anyone know if it's worth just donating scraps of fabric, eg that you would get from cutting up lots of t-shirts?)
We've decided that the long range forecast is looking pretty good, so the veg has gone into the big outdoor planters as well, and if it weren't for the fact that we've currently got unforecast-but-welcome rain, I'd be out doing more bedding plants this afternoon.
I'm sure that many of you can guess my views about the election result, so I shan't mention them ;) |
