Duck duck duck. Duck.

This morning, Mrs Farmer and Granny Farmer brought the lost duck down to us. She's a magpie duck, a bit bigger than the runners and quite pretty.
After we'd clipped her wing, we brought her into the garden and put her down near to the runners. The runners ran, right to the other end of the garden, where they stood looking suspicious.
New Duck, who is still currently nameless (we can't agree on either Nanny or Erzulie. I'm now wondering about Millie Hopgood...) spent the day on her own, sitting in the shrubbery near to the pond, and the runners spent the day anywhere else.

When bed time came, the runners went in quite happily and we then spent twenty minutes crashing through the undergrowth trying to get New Duck to go down the steps into the stableyard, and then did a bit more chasing to get her into the duck house, at which point the runners did their best to run out and get away from her.
Sigh.
Hopefully they'll get used to each other overnight.
Today, between duck wrangling and gardening, I have mostly been playing the new Mario game. It's very big! |
