Bright and early this morning (possibly *too* bright and early: although it was pretty, driving along a north-south road just as the sun came up through the misty hedges was a little distracting), I took Jo off to the vet for her dental. I also had a chat with the vet about how stiff she's been when she gets up after a nap over the last couple of weeks.
She wasn't very impressed when she was taken away through the back door of the room while I left through the front, poor thing.
All went well, though, and I picked up a very woozy girl at about 2pm. Teeth all done, no extractions needed, chicken-flavour toothpaste acquired for future use. Her blood work was all fine, as well, and the vet had had a good feel of her back legs, both awake and asleep, and found thickening of the hips and left knee but didn't think she was in paid from it. She's got metacam anyway, to take away any gum inflammation, so we'll keep her on it for a week and then go back to see how she's doing. Just now, she's better than she has been but still a bit lame.
Mike, the fool, seems to have acquired a new job. Just when he got rid of the old one! |
