Which was odd
Ok, so I knew that we could expect some behavioural changes after the spay, but this seems a little sudden.
I took Jodie out into the front garden while I did the last run to the boys, and experimentally called her over to the stables to see if she wanted her usual walk in the field. She came much more quickly than she usually does, so obviously did fancy it. But then I realised that she was carrying something. She handed me something soggy, and I gave it back to her after which she carried it around the field, skipped her usual drink from the trough, and trotted back to the house with it.
It's one of those fabric ducks that people give to gun dogs, presumably left over from the previous inhabitants. This is the first time she's ever shown any interest in a stuffed toy: she's taken it to her bed and curled up next to it.
It just quacked when she poked it.
(She seems much better now than she did this morning, with only occasional whimpering.)
