Misc

After that cold but bright start, it clouded over around lunch time, so it was a bit chilly when we took the pooch for her walk. That didn't seem to be deterring some of the early bulbs, though:

(Silly things are growing in the middle of the footpath, so they may not survive. Not a busy path, though.)

By the time we brought the boys in, the mist had arrived and was rolling down the valley:

(They were, therefore, both spooky and fussy. Mist is *always* scary, and yet nothing bad ever happens except for them not getting their coming-in-nicely treat when they've come in nicely. It's most mysterious.)

I started a new blanket last night, and I fancied doing some different weaving patterns on it. I was aiming for herringbone, but seem to have failed to make the pattern move along the row like it should have, as what I actually got was this:
.
Further experimentation, for my future reference, shows that it's a normal set-up with normal first and last rows, then alternating rows of
a) under first two, continue over/under in pairs, over last one; and
b) under first one, continue over/under in pairs, over last two.

Will try again with herringbone when I start the next colour of wool. I can have more than one pattern per blanket, right?
It looks quite ratty while you're doing it, but springs back nicely when you take it off (at least with this wool!):
