Timber!
It was very frosty this morning, but it warmed up quickly once the sun arrived at the bottom of the valley. Especially when I rode the boys!
After lunch, I took the pooch up into the woods. We were just crossing the sheep field when the owner -- and her dog -- came out for their walk. "Has he been done!?" I yelled across the field: fortunately, given that Jodie slipped her collar in about ten seconds, he has, about a fortnight ago. I fear we may have to walk her in her hated car harness for a bit.... We all had a nice walk in the woods, exchanging local gossip, with Ben sticking to Jodie like glue: he doesn't quite realise that he has been done, I fear, but she was only running away from him a bit of the time.
The tree chaps have been working away all day. I went out about an hour ago to tell them that, even though I'd put the outside light on, it really was getting too dark to be playing with chainsaws. But they were very nearly done, and determined to get the bloody thing down today:
so I stayed and watched for about twenty minutes until it came crashing down.
They'll be back tomorrow to tidy up!
