Gmail filters

Can anyone help?

I have a gmail filter set to direct mail from staff@loncon to a folder. It is also catching up email to, for example, exhibits-staff@loncon. Is there any way that I can make the staff@loncon be an exact, rather than partial, match, or do I have to add an exception for every bloody division....?

I can't replicate this to test it, but I think if you put a + sign in front it might do an exact match?

I have no idea: is that the sort of thing that might work?

I'll give it a go, and see what happens. The trouble is, most of those addresses have so little traffic at present that I forget about it between one time and the next!

The string is
list:(<staff.ukin2014.org>)
so where would I put the +?

Another idea: filter everything that contains -staff first, then filter on staff for what's left.

So exhibits-staff and dealers-staff will get pre-filtered.

Ah, I normally filter by the to: line and could only get it to do exact matches. Does to:(staff@ukin2014.org) work instead?

How do I do that? Do I just need to make sure that staff@ is at the bottom of the list of filters?

Not sure: I'll give it a go. I just let gmail set the filters up by itself, which may be the problem!
