Note to self...

... no matter how tasty, beautifully served, lovely and dairy-free the rest of your birthday dinner, choosing to have your favorite pudding of crème brûlée to go with your glass off tokaji is not a good plan. Sigh. I love crème brûlée. I always forget.

(On the plus side, I have the best ever yet GB-beating stick! It's amazing! Looking forward to trying it out, hopefully before the show on Sunday!)

(I could, however, do without the new people who seem to have just moved in opposite -- at least, I had to get a moving van to move out of the way when I got back from the yard yesterday -- and have, last night and tonight, been blasting music out through their open balcony doors. Sigh. It'll be another hot and stuffy night in our bedroom, then.)

Happy birthday. Very sad that the crème brûlée doesn't like you anymore. (I now have that sort of relationship with fresh bread. Every once in a while, I persuade myself it's not that bad, really ...)

I should have taken a pill. I have magic pills, in my handbag, and normally I remember, but crème brûlée is a bit of a blind spot for me, possibly because I think of it as an egg thing, not a cream thing!
