This may not be necessary, but just in case: does anyone have a UK Costco card I could borrow shortly before / during Eastercon?

Yes I do - you'd have to pay cash there because they're strict about matching cards to credit/debit cards.

I suspect that the levels of faff would be such that it's easier to just get my own card, so I'm going to go that route. Thanks for the offer, though!

Costco cards used to have photos on them (I don't have one any more so perhaps this has changed) so maybe if you find someone you could both go together?
