I'm almost out of correspondence cards, so I thought I'd order some new ones.
The last lot I had were nice, so I figured I'd go to the same people again. After I placed the order, I had a vague memory that there was a problem with a mangled em-dash last time I ordered from them, and a quick check of my email showed that (even though their website preview looked fine) I'd had an email from them afterwards asking if there was meant to be ' â€" ' between the phone number and the email address.
This time, I sent them a pre-emptive message through their 'contact us' form, saying that I'd had a problem previously and (if they hadn't fixed whatever was causing it at their end) please could they put the em-dash in.
I've just had an email saying 'please see your attached corrected proof', which features... two hyphens. I suspect that this is someone not realising that the autocorrect that they usually reply on doesn't happen in this particular bit of software....
It's annoying, but mostly because if it works on the website preview then it should bloody well work on the final version. |
