It's surprisingly tiring having an extra horse to see to!
As it wasn't raining this morning, we scraped some more of the mud off Bugs, so here he is without his rug on:
He's still a bit filthy, but realistically no worse than the other two at this time of year. It just shows more on him!
This morning and yesterday morning, when he caught sight on Mike with his breakfast he kicked his door and, when it opened, wandered out to meet it. This is odd, as the first night I was fairly sure I'd bolted it properly and last night I was *really* sure. Tonight, I'm going to take a photo of it and see what happens. I've also tied a rope across where the stall guard will go (once it arrives).
(It's not that he's undoing the bolt: there's no kick plate (also on the way!) on the bottom of the door, so we've been putting a clip through to stop him from getting out if he's one of those clever buggers who can open a bolt!)
It might just be that I'm being crap, but the last time we thought I was being crap several times in a row it tuned out that I was making Baby's dinner properly but that a rat was then stealing half of it. No idea what the explanation might be this time.... |
