We have, for Some Time, been planning an orchard next to our riding school: it didn't happen last winter due to a combination of crapness on the part of the person we tried to hire to do the work and rain, so this year I gave up on the friends-of-friends route and stuck the job on mybuilder.com.
Today, the nice man came along with his digger and did some digging:
 
 
(And, you might note, the snow has pretty much all gone now, which was handy: he finished more quickly than he'd expected to do, so I was able to jump on GB for half an hour. I was glad that I did, as his leg did feel a bit not-right at the start.)
Mike's ordered the trees, which he'll be collecting on Monday, and then we just have to plant them and keep them alive until they get settled in! |
