It barely rained at all overnight, and today has been lovely: bright and very breezy. All of which means that, after a morning stuck inside again, the boys have just been flung out in the field for the afternoon. I'm very pleased, and I suspect that they are as well, particularly as we moved the fence a day early, so they have new grass as well.
Jodie and I had a nice long walk in the woods this morning, going over to the woods on the other side of the woods for the first time since her op. It's actually a bit drier out there than it has been, too, which is good. It was very busy: half a dozen dog walkers, a rider, two cyclists and a party of about a dozen Serious Ramblers, with their rucksacks, gaiters and big walking sticks. We overtook them going up a muddy hill without really noticing.
The bluebells are getting going, up in the woods:
(The snowdrops are cracking on in our garden, too. I must take a picture. My timelapse camera's been out there for a week or so, I'll probably bring it in soon and see what I've got.)
There's an occasional pond up there, too. This is the biggest that I've ever seen it, though:
Jodie's doing nicely. Her only real interest in her babies now seems to be checking where they are first thing in the morning and playing fetch with them (she's getting quite good!), and she's eating properly. Much relieved! |
