Typical

The boys didn't get ridden today, but have been out in the field. We went out earlier to poo pick, and--typical--the Baby decided that this would be a good time to revive his previous fad of chasing Jodie around the field to see if she'll play with him.... We did try to keep her on the other side of the fence, where she normally has the sense to lie out of their way, but she's being too clingy for that. In the end, Mike had to tie her lead to a fence post that the boys couldn't get to. He's got too much energy: he really needs a good long hack, with lots of fast work, but there's not really anywhere dry enough for it.
Here's Jodie with Duck, who she's still carrying around the place:

She also has far too much energy, but we're already letting her do more than the vet said, with a walk down the hay field (sheep finally gone! Hurrah!) and a few trips out to our field today. As soon as we do anything that looks like a prelude to going outside, she starts bounding around the house hoping it's her walk. Poor little thing. Much less whimpering today, though, which is good.
I went to John Lewis At Home in Ashford, on the way home from Pilates, because I wanted to buy some grey wool: I'd bought some online, but it was bluer than the picture, and I had a go last night at dyeing some with black in, but it was cheap black ink so it's mostly come out green. Anyway, distinctly unimpressed: it's not so much got a haberdashery section as a scrap booking department with a few reels of cotton and no wool at all. Bah. |
