Oh, Jodie...

Through a careful programme of licking, Jodie managed to get an end on her bandage, which she started tugging at a little this morning. I made a note to trim it off when we got back, and add another layer of vet wrap if needed, and we took her off for her carefully planned, mud-free walk.
After about 500 yards, Mike said "Is her bandage slipping down? Her foot looks longer than it did," and that was indeed the case: I could just see a shaved bit, which hadn't been there before. We decided to keep going and see how it went, and a few steps later could see a red bit: not good. It turns out that the careful licking, probably in combination with a little light running around the stables, had also had the effect of getting the top of the bandage below her knee joint, after which walking did the rest.
Jodie weighs 35kg. Some time later, we staggered back to the car and drove her home. Fortunately, the vet is open on Sunday. Unfortunately, they can't fit us in until 3:30, so I cut the bandage the rest of the way off and slapped a bit of gamgee and vet wrap on it. It did look nice and clean and dry, but there was a little bit of fresh blood coming from somewhere.
She's now very pleased to be able to wiggle her toes, but keeps trying to get the rest of her leg free.
I'm not sure what we're going to do after it's been re-dressed, though: if we spent all the time in the house, we could probably keep her still, but not when she's outside. I suppose we'll have to tie her to the barn, or something. Poor pooch.
