Looking for something to motivate you into tidying up the house?

Why not arrange for your elderly dog to go non-weight bearing on another leg, so that she's got two lame legs on one side, on a day when you don't have the car?

That way, you can get the vet to make a home visit: plenty of motivation to make the place look neat!

Fingers crossed. I wish I could figure out why she's suddenly gone lame in a leg that's never had any problems, though. I thought it might be a thorn in her foot or something, but I had a feel of the pad and didn't find anything then, when I put the foot back down, she gave the most awful whimper.

Also inviting people to dinner or to stay obliges one (not you, obv) to run around cleaning and tidying in order to give the (alas completely erroneous) impression that yes, we are tidy people and not slobs. Or inviting tradespeople to quote for work in the kitchen means that the kitchen has to be clean and the washing up done.
