'Thud!' goes the human!
And 'thud!' goes the other human!
Yes, Bugs has been having a fun time of things today.
He was a bit unhappy when Mike rode him out to the school, because there were cows around half of it, but he was calming down nicely, so I carried on riding GB and left them to it. I was giving GB his first canter, and Mike kindly moved off the edge of the school so that I could have space. As we went past, I heard rather more rapid footfalls behind, and stopped GB just as Mike went 'thud'. Bugs had apparently thought "GB is running away from the cows! Must go with him!" (even though we were all going *towards* them. Sigh) and set off with a nice buck or two to catch up.
Mike was feeling a bit sore, so I got him loaded up on GB to have a walk around and climbed on Bugs myself. It seemed to be going ok, so we had a little trot, and then I asked for canter at the furthest point away from the cows. Which was just by the gate. Where, as she always does, Jodie was waiting for us to finish being inexplicable and pay some attention to her again. "Argh!" went Bugs, who is a bit of a drama queen when he gets himself worked up, "First cows everywhere and now an enormous wolf is lying in wait for me!" and 'woosh' I went, flying off and around in a big arc on the end of the reins. Until they snapped, and I went 'thud' flat on my back. Which wasn't very pleasant.
Took GB's reins off his bridle and put them on Bugs's and climbed back on again. He did eventually calm down, and we had a little canter well away from either cows or wolves, and then I decided that that was very much Enough and we put them in the field.
I did a bit of rather slow mucking out until Mike asked me to take him to Minor Injuries, then finished it off after they sent him home again with instructions to rest. He has a very sore foot, and various other aches and pains. My back is mostly ok when I'm moving about but stiffens up rather when I stop. Who knows what state we'll be in tomorrow? Could be fun....
