The Martian

This afternoon, we went to the cinema for the first time in years, to see The Martian.

It's very good. I might have to re-read the book, now.

I was, however, utterly bewildered by the adverts beforehand. Particularly the one about putting horseradish in your macaroni cheese.

(It is about a decade since I've regularly seen adverts, so maybe I'm just not used to them any more!)

Every so often I see adverts aimed at children. And am both horrified and boggled.

Weird. I hadn't seen that, but I was doing my fave pasta dish on Saturday (pasta. Creme fraiche. Whatever veg look best - usually courgette and spring onion, but this time portobello mushrooms and baby spinach) and for some reason, instead of reaching for a couple of cloves of garlic to squeeze in at the last minute, I added a couple of dollops of horseradish. Utterly delicious, wouldn't work with the courgette version.

And then I realised my principle on this dish - eat, fall asleep from carb and dairy overload, have clear sinuses.
