Wet

Thursday night and Friday were very wet, here, so the boys couldn't go out in the field on Friday or Saturday.

Instead, they all had to go in the stableyard together for a few hours in the morning before going back into their stables, which was the first time that they'd been in scrapping distance.

GB was his usual self, but I think he was a bit surprised when Bugs responded by turning around and kicking him on the bum! Yesterday when we took their rugs off to ride them, Bugs had some quite impressive bite marks on his side: good job that they did have their rugs on! They were also covered in mud, and the grass was all torn up so I think they'd been scrapping quite a bit. In the school, GB's ears went flat back on his head every time we passed Bugs, but nothing worse than that.

Today in the field, though, GB mostly seems to be simultaneously pretending that Bugs doesn't exist and carefully ensuring that he is always between Bugs and the Baby. I did a video so that we could see what they're up to, and there are about four frames all day when he's not between them. Reassuringly, there aren't any frames where an obvious scrap is in progress, and there are a few where they're standing really quite close together, peacefully nibbling grass.

And (sigh) now it's raining again, so they may not be out again tomorrow.
