Fluff

Two wheelbarrow loads of the stuff....

Mrs Next Door (still pregnant) popped over at one point. "Gosh, he's a lot finer than I thought he was!" Yes, this is what happens every year when I clip his legs off at around this time and people have forgotten what he looks like in his summer coat! To be fair to her, I don't think she's ever seen him without a bit of feather on.

Bit of a crisis when I was almost exactly at the half-way point: the clipper blade stopped clipping. It's always been a bit dodgy, so I suspect that it had just died. It might be blunt, but it stopped cutting very quickly. Mike had to dash out to Canterbury to buy me a new one, while I did some fiddly bits with a smaller blade, which he wasn't terribly happy with as he's not feeling well (we suspect food poisoning).

It's fortunate that the Baby is not smarter than he is. A smart horse might have wondered why he was spending the morning tied up with a hay net watching another horse get clipped, figured he was next in line and then got worked up about it all. I'm not sure that he actually noticed anything other than the way that his hay net occasionally ran out and was magically refilled, however.

Still, GB should be cooler, now.
