A pond for Duck

The pond in the stableyard is back again:

Jodie seems to not be inclined to put Duck in it, though. This is probably a good thing.

Duck has been joined by Bear, the unloved second child:

Bear is not remotely as interesting, possibly because of his failure to quack, and has hardly been touched since he came in and was unceremoniously dumped on the kitchen floor. (I did move him to her bed, mostly because he was in the way, but it's Duck that she comes and checks on when she's been outside. Then again, it was Duck that she left outside during a hail shower this morning, so Jodie's apparently not a terribly good mother.)

I worry slightly about how many other left-over stuffed toys she'll find in the shrubbery.

Today, she's been alternating between finding dens to lurk in, both with and without Duck, and bouncing around in circles with Too Much Energy. The only seriously unhappy-seeming moment was while we were riding, in the afore-mentioned hail shower, when I think she was a bit wet and cold. Right now, Jodie is behind the sofa, somewhere she's never previously bothered to explore. I suppose she's happy enough, but if she keeps staying in there then we might have to turn the radiator down a bit.

(Other than that bit of shower this morning, and another one just now when we were doing the boys--who've been in all day again, poor lads--it's been a lovely sunny day, perfect for a walk in the woods. Sigh.
