Trying out the LJ app....

Which, I belatedly learn, doesn't save drafts. Grr.

So, Twitter cross posting isn't doing it for me: it's annoying, the pictures are just links, and they're tiny. Plus, editing down to however-many characters was amusing for about two days.

As well, today's picture really needs a cut, as I'm a nice person.

So, I'm trying out the latest version of the notoriously crap LJ app. Which doesn't auto save drafts.

Yesterday, as well as a trip to the Big City (where Jodie coped remarkably with massed crowds of screaming cosplayers), we went for a walk in the woods. In a couple of minutes, and ignoring the ones still in spikes, small or under-ripe, I picked up these and stopped as I only had small pockets:

Today, I have been battening down hatches and trying to figure out what might blow away, but I took the time to rescue this not-very-little chap from the Baby's water bucket:

As you can see, he doesn't seem to have suffered from his bath, so I popped him in the barn to recover.

Right, let's see if this posts....

Edit: Hmm, those pictures may now be *too* big. Irritatingly so, for anyone?

Gorgeous spider.

What are you planning to do with the chestnuts? Stuffing?

My spiders are all missing a leg or two. I suspect Act of Cat.

He is, isn't he? Hopefully he'll have a happy and fulfilled life eating bugs in the barn: seems safer than the stable!

Not sure, yet, but the bowl's now full after today's walk with bigger pockets. Marrons glacés, possibly. Or soup. Or stuffing. Or just roasted on the fire...

Aww!

Picture size is fine for me; doesn't stretch the page, even on my not-very-high-res laptop screen, and it's all the better for admiring the poor wee bedraggled spider's slightly damp fuzz.

A very nice spider.

Do you get stick insects in the UK? I've decided they're probably my favourite insect.

No, only as pets. They are pretty cool, though!
