(That would be a combination of Zelda and not taking public transport, I suppose. Also, I read all my exciting Christmas books immediately, and now have Nothing To Read.)

Other things I've been doing include going and getting fitted for a suit, which was far less painful than trying to find a shirt....

You picked some good ones to read, though!
I have shopping for shirts. They either gape or they're too loose,. Mostly they're too short at the waist, but if they're long enough there, they tend to be too long in the arms. Sigh.

It's the gape / loose that I'm having trouble with. Going to have to buy one that doesn't gape and get the waist taken in, I fear. It's bloody annoying!

I share your annoyance. Even the ones with lycra do this, too. Bah.

I have a nasty feeling that for a proper fit, you need to have them tailored. That is, unless you happen to match the averaged shape of the people the cut was actually designed for.

(I'd be tempted to go get checked by Raja Fashions. They do very, very nice suits.)

"Hardly read anything" is a bit relative, I think - I'm sure that's more books than I read in the whole of last year. ;-)

I'm surprised you hadn't read Airs Above the Ground before. Did you enjoy it?

Mike's mother bought it for me, I think entirely on the basis of the title: none of us had heard of it before! It was quite fun, though. I may see if I can find anything else by her.

I'm very fond of her books. I think my favourites are The Ivy Tree (an homage to Brat Farrar) and Madam Will You Talk (in which our heroine is pursued round the tourist spots of Provence by a devastatingly sexy man who may be a murderer). But they're all good.
