Internet stalker!
Not us: Bugsy.
Mike had an LJ message last night, from someone who'd set up an account just to send it: she was Bugsy's last-but-two owner, and had lost track of where he'd got to, so she (we assume) did a Google Image search for horses called Bugsy and found a post Mike made shortly after we got him. (Much easier to do when you're looking for such a distinctive horse!)
It turns out that she sold him, when she went to Uni, to a woman who evented him until she had a baby and sold him to the girl we got him from. She was very unhappy when she found out where he'd ended up (I'd love to have the story in full, but it sounds she already had a bad opinion of the girl we bought him from, and then she turned up at the yard one time to find him looking poorly, so she tried to buy him back but was refused), and was hoping he was somewhere better now.
We've said she can come and see him if she wants, and she says she'd like to. If nothing else, we can get her to sign the paperwork to transfer his passport into our names: we'd been putting it off because we had no way of contacting the last name in it (her mother's), and (with the brand of passport he has) it's a faff to do if you don't get the last official owner's signature.
